New Predictive Intelligence Tool 4site, Coming Soon to a Business Traveler Near You

The cat’s out of the bag, and now we can give you a sneak peek at a game-changing new product for travel managers and travelers.

We presented 4site™, our new predictive intelligence product, to industry leaders at Phocuswright as part of the Travel Innovation Summit Launch, an event designed specifically for established companies to launch innovative new products.

Why the need?

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of 4site, first let’s talk about the “why.” Our aim, in the simplest terms, is to give travel managers the tools they need to offer superior service levels. We are constantly brainstorming ways to make that service better and less costly to achieve, while automating everything we can. One of the biggest challenges that we all deal with today is travel disruptions.

In the past 12 months, more than one million flights were delayed and travelers lost 65 million minutes of time waiting on delays. That’s time that could be spent on the job,

When we began developing 4site, we did so with the goal of returning some of that time to travelers and their companies, while simultaneously reducing the operational cost of providing automated services.

What 4site does

4site predictive intelligence offers a flexible platform that not only monitors trips but also looks for “events” that are opportunities to increase service levels. The tool provides the best options at the best time so that travel managers can make better decisions. This is necessary because we know that every single second that goes by changes the options that are available and the chances of improving a traveler’s trip. Options we had in the morning don’t exist at lunch; instead, there is a completely new set of options to review and evaluate. And when you spend your time continuously checking the options, your time is used to manage the chaos.

4site bridges the information gap that exists between the live trip and what an agent can see and access in a typical booking environment. The mobile-enabled platform shows travel managers real-time information, pinpoints problems such as delays and accesses GDS and reservations systems to navigate the changes. Additionally, the chat feature allows the travel manager to communicate with the traveler in real time about delays and the need for changes to reservations. It can all be taken care of before any time is lost at all.

4site screen flow pulls together the predictive information, the reservations data, and the ability to chat in real time into one easy-to-use platform. The platform keeps all options available and always updated for all travelers you have on the road. Details that can be targeted and adjusted using 4site include seat/meal options, rental cars, trains, layover times, directions, flight options, and hotel options. The mobile app feature allows travelers to view their itineraries and connect directly with agents.

What travelers need to be more satisfied

What we know about modern business travel is that travelers are generally satisfied except when it comes to airport security, flight delays, and airline fees. Forty-five percent of business travelers cite airline delays as an area of frustration, per the 2015 GBTA Business Traveler Sentiment Index™. Adopting a platform that proactively eases traveler frustration with delays and reduces time lost on the road reaches travelers exactly where they are hurting and elevates your service substantially.

We currently have 4site in market with several early adopters and will launch the solution to the broad market in early 2017. If you want to make sure your company is ahead of the curve with this differentiating service, contact us today.

Making Travel Better for Business Through New Partnerships

“Eventually everything connects – people, ideas, objects. The quality of the connections is the key to quality per se.” Charles Eames

You might think that we provide tools that streamline corporate travel and make it less costly, but really what we do is make connections. Two of our recent integrations reflect our mission to make the connections that elevate our service, changing the relationship between corporate travel managers, travel brands, suppliers, agencies, and travelers for the better.

We were one of the first partners to integrate with Traxo CAPTURE, a travel data aggregation tool, to provide a more comprehensive itinerary planning and travel management. We know what a trip is more than just what’s booked in the GDS. The Traxo integration gives us seamless access to customers’ booked travel plans, brand preferences, and spending activity, which means you gain a competitive edge in understanding travelers’ needs and behaviors. This partnership facilitates the integration of travel data into web, mobile, mid-office, and back-end applications.

Our new partnership with Conferma allows us to offer credit-based virtual payments to our already robust AutoPay platform. The integration takes advtange of Conferma’s vast worldwide network of banking partners for convenient credit-based payments, including 40 currencies across 193 countries.

These two new partnerships are in addition to our existing integrations with eNett and Qlik. Though the threads may be invisible, they connect our clients to a network of exceptional providers that make our customers better able to manage their business and engage with travelers.

Also essential to the quality of our service is, of course, our own team. We believe that keeping our team of experts closely connected is the key to our success and, therefore, yours. As a result of our rapid growth, we currently have two offices—one for our engineering, development, and support teams, and second office for the business team.

We are pleased to announce that construction has begun on our new headquarters in Bloomington, Indiana, our home for the last 24 years. The new open-concept offices will have the ideal space for our whole team to work under one roof in a collaborative environment.

As we look ahead to 2017, anticipating growth in the corporate travel sector for yet another year, know that we will continue our focus on delivering partners, services, and tools that will make corporate travel better and more manageable than it’s ever been.

Cornerstone Integrates with New Traxo CAPTURE for Enhanced Data Aggregation

Bloomington, IN (November 15, 2016) – With our latest integration to Traxo, Cornerstone Information Systems is once again moving than needle when it comes to using data and technology to change the relationship between corporate travel managers, travel brands, suppliers, agencies and travelers.

As part of a strategic partnership with Traxo, CIS will now be able to leverage Traxo’s CAPTURE travel data aggregation tools, including email inbox scanning,  to capture detailed insights for itinerary planning and comprehensive travel management. Beyond what is available from other sources, the integration will give CIS seamless access to customers’ booked travel plans, brand preferences and spending activity – no matter where they are booked. For TMCs and corporations, this means gaining a competitive edge with the ability to pinpoint travelers’ shifting needs, preferences, and behaviors.

Launched today at the Phocuswright conference, Traxo CAPTURE leverages new inbox scanning automation to effectively seek and capture travel data for itinerary planning and comprehensive travel management.  CAPTURE’s agnostic, universal approach to accessing confirmed itinerary data – from any source – facilitates the seamless detection and integration of relevant travel data into web, mobile, mid-office or back-end applications.

“We require a truly comprehensive technology solution to help us access itinerary data beyond what’s available in global distribution systems,” said Mat Orrego, CEO. “Traxo CAPTURE has proven to be robust and extensible, making it ideal for our needs.”

At Cornerstone, we put a lot of time and energy into finding solutions that enable our clients to better manage their business and engage with travelers. We are very excited about the opportunity to extend the power of our platform via this partnership with a best of breed solution providers like Traxo.

Cornerstone Integrates Credit-Based Virtual Payments Making AutoPay’s Value Even Greater

Cornerstone Information Systems (CIS) launched AutoPay last Spring to oprationalize virtual payments for travel management companies with the ultimate goal of creating a seamless end-to-end payment solution. As we continue to enhance our AutoPay offering, we have partnered with Conferma to bring our clients credit-funded virtual cards, expanding the payment options for our virtual card from only pre-funded to also credit-funded.

The partnership connects our clients to Conferma’s payment network that supports virtual cards issued in 40 currencies across 193 countries. With a choice of over 25 major card-issuing companies and key local names, this tech integration gives corporate travel agencies the flexibility to work with their customers to deliver tailor-made virtual payment solutions.

AutoPay goes far beyond the obvious benefits of instant payment and greater payment security, however. The aim of AutoPay is to operationalize virtual payments through seamless payment processes, improving the bottom line. Travel agents and managers can issue virtual cards for payment without ever leaving their GDS desktop workspace. They are better able to enforce travel policy, reconcile expenses, and report on the results – with no manual work.

When properly integrated with your existing technologies, virtual cards:

  • can be requested from any GDS
  • automatically associate with the booking for tracking and reconciliation
  • integrate with your reporting mechanisms, so you know if you are saving money through travel compliance and can quickly identify issues
  • result in fewer expense errors with less manual reporting from employees

At the end of the day, our concern is not so much about the banking details as it is ensuring that virtual cards become a seamless part of your operations. We aim to enhance your overall travel service and providing credit-based virtual payments is one more step in creating a superior payment solution.

5 Things We Love About the 2016 Phocuswright Conference

This week’s Phocuswright Conference in Los Angeles is the event where the “best of the best” in the travel industry are both on stage and in the audience. CIS is heading back to this epic event (again) and we’ve got big plans.

This year, CIS will not only be exhibiting, but CEO Mat Orrego will showcase our new app 4SiteTM as part of the Travel Innovation Summit Launch competition We’re letting you know about our participation because not only are we considered visonary leaders in the travel tech space, but we’re also there to talk with and listen to the other travel innovators at the event. We will be looking for those game-changing nuggets that will give us the edge in developing products that you need in order to deliver the “best of the best” service. That’s what it’s all about.

With that, here are our five favorite things about this year’s conference:

1). Thought Leaders Means Something Here

The term thought leader has been ground down to dust since Joe Kurtzman popularized it in 1994. However, if there is any place it still has meaning, it’s at Phocuswright. According to the conference website, 59% of speakers are CEOS and 56% of the audience is C-level. It’s impossible to leave without insight, strategy, and inspiration.

2). Travel Innovation Platform

The highly anticipated Innovation Platform features 3 stages for innovation: the Battleground for start-ups to present in front of potential investors and incubators, the Summit for young companies, and the Launch for established companies with innovative product launches. Every year the Innovation Platform introduces us to the best new products and ideas, and this year, we’ll be participating ourselves, introducing our new predictive intelligence technology, 4SiteTM, on the Launch stage on Wednesday, November 16 at 10:45 am.

3). Forward Thinking Sessions

We choose the keynote with Lyft’s David Baga as well as the “Board of Directors” Roundtable with Phocuswright’s Philip Wolf, the man behind the phrase “strategically correct, not politically correct,” as two of the sessions that will really focus on what we need in order to succeed in the coming years. Baga’s keynote will address the changing role of on-demand service in the travel industry, and Wolf’s Roundtable should be a high-level look at what’s to come in the industry. The Roundtable includes Terrell Jones, founder of Travelocity.com, Rich Barton, Co-Founder of Zillow and Expedia, and Jeffrey Katz, Founding Chairman and CEO of Orbitz, among others.

4). Executive Interview with Oliver Heckmann, VP Travel & Shopping, Google

Whether for business or leisure travel, Google continues to be a steadfast gateway to the travel world. We want to hear Heckmann’s take on what’s happening in the travel search, shop, and buy funnel, because it tells us a lot about the changing habits of all travelers.

5). It All Comes Down to the Dollar

There’s a good bit going on at Phocuswright around the payment process, and as we’ve been focused on operationalizing virtual cards for travel providers, we’ll be going to the “Unraveling the Cost of Supplier Payments” presented by eNett International and “Building a Global Payments Platform in the Travel Industry” presented by Yapstone.

We’re proud to be an established company that continues to innovate (the prerequisite for participating in the Innovation Launch), and we’re looking forward to many meaningful conversations with other travel industry leaders. There are important discussions to be had, and the topics we hope to discuss could factor into the travel technology landscape for the next few decades.

As always, we’re looking forward to sharing our story and having a lot of fun at the event so keep an eye on our Twitter feed (@MatOrrego and @CISWired) for photos and updates.

The Case for Millennial-Friendly Travel Policies

By Mat Orrego, CEO of Cornerstone Information Systems

Cornerstone’s CEO, Mat Orrego, recently wrote a LinkedIn post on the reasons to consider Millennial-friendly travel policies. Mat posits that Millennials got a bad rap – but he finds they are inspired, tech-savvy, and creative employees.

When it comes to business travel policy for Millennials, it’s important to understand the economic environment Millennials grew up in. Mat discusses the effects The Great Recession had on Millennials and the way they have come to view jobs, homes, and money.

Mat writes, “They saw the devastating effects not only on their families, many of which lost their savings and some of which lost their homes but also on their own debt. Most of them left college with hefty loans and weren’t able to find employment after having done ‘all the right things.’ As a result, they are creative free thinkers with an entrepreneurial spirit and a penchant for finding great deals.”

In his LinkedIn post, Mat walks through a few specific and tactical travel policies that can make a big difference. With a short tenure at their companies and a high cost of replacement, companies would do well to build policies that help employees work most effectively while taking behavioral traits into account. A travel policy can have a very real impact on company loyalty.

As Mat says, “I can’t overstate the importance of giving this issue attention now. Anything companies can do to increase retention among millennials benefits the bottom line in the long term. Fortunately, creating a culture that engages millennials is almost certain to increase innovation and make for a happier staff in general, regardless of age.”

Check out his post here.

Cornerstone™ Information Systems Showcases the Future of Predictive Intelligence to Manage The Traveler’s Journey at Phocuswright Conference

Mat Orrego to present game-changing new 4site™  proactive journey management tool at Los Angeles event

BLOOMINGTON, IN (November 8, 2016)  – Cornerstone Information Systems (CIS), a global leader in innovative technology solutions for travel companies, today announced that they are among an elite group of visionary companies selected to battle it out at the 2016 Phocuswright Conference. Mat Orrego, the company’s CEO, will take center stage at The Travel Innovation Summit Launch to present the new 4site™ predictive intelligence technology to industry leaders on  Wednesday, November 16 at 10:45 am.

Each year, only the most forward thinkers make it into the Phocuswright Innovation Platform to vie for a variety of prestigious awards. The categories of competition consist of three distinct segments; Battleground, Summit, and Launch. Cornerstone will compete in the Launch category, which provides established companies the opportunity to unveil a groundbreaking innovation that is changing the travel landscape. Winners are named by a panel of judges comprised of high-caliber travel and technology experts.

Long recognized as a travel technology pioneer, Cornerstone will be showcasing their latest breakthrough solution which drives proactive journey management for companies and TMCs with predictive analysis and real-time chat. “There are plenty of apps out there – and some are really cool – but not a single one actually solves the problems we experience every single day around disruptions, changes in our plans, and unexpected events,” explains Mat. “We have spent the last year sharpening our focus and building an open, flexible platform that monitors trips with predictive intelligence. 4site is breaking new ground by bridging the information gap between the live trip and what the agent sees in a reservation to drive continued service.”

4site is a rich, intuitive tool that provides timely, relevant 360-degree monitoring based on customized preferences set by the TMC or corporation, and proposes actionable, details on steps to take at every touch point. The unique 4site mobile app can be custom branded or implemented directly within existing apps and gives travelers a way to stay informed and connected in real time with their travel advisor.

Mat adds, “In today’s fast-changing world, predictive intelligence can help TMCs and corporate travel teams manage what is most likely to happen before it happens. It is about prioritizing the trips to work based on criteria like specific airports, critical routes, and VIP travelers. We have developed a real game-changer and are excited to share it the industry’s most influential thought at Phocuswright.”

Founded in 1993, the annual Phocuswright Conference has evolved into one of the most important informational and networking events for the travel sector, a marketplace in which Phocuswright estimates that global spending will increase to $1.4 trillion this year from $1.3 trillion two years ago. Around 1,800 people are expected to attend the event being held in Los Angeles, which will run from Nov. 14 to 17.

Cornerstone would like to extend a special invitation to conference attendees to attend the Launch competition or visit booth ### for a personal demo. To learn more about Cornerstone Information Systems visit https://www.ciswired.com or call 1 (888) 778-0897.
