19 Companies Testing New Cornerstone Travel Applications
Travets ™ Provide Ability to Better Manage Travel Program
Bloomington, IN - January 13, 2010: Cornerstone Information Systems, a technology and professional services company in the travel sector, announced today the release of a new application platform, Travets™.
Nineteen travel management companies and corporations are currently evaluating and testing 11 new Travets applications that will allow them to better manage their travel procurement and operational objectives. The companies are:
- Uniglobe Preferred Travel, Chambers Travel Management, Travel Leaders, Radius, Dart Container, Corporate Travel Planners, Worldview Travel, Campbell Travel, Casto Travel, Child Travel Services, Executive Travel Associates, Frosch International Travel, Gant Travel, ITA Group, Plaza Travel, SR Travel Service, The Travel Authority, Travel On and US Travel.
What Are Travets
Travets are discreet applications, much like iPhone apps, that provide the ability to manage and control specific and defined parts of the travel procurement process. For example, a Travet can show in real time how a company is performing against supplier contracts. Another Travet can give a live view into a specific breakdown of total travel spend across product segments e.g. air, hotel, car and rail. A third Travet can show how a company is performing against policy prior to ticketing. A unique Travet view can be created by simply dragging a Travet from the Travet Library and placing it where you want on your screen, similar to how you would access and assemble Google gadgets.
Travets are portable and can reside “outside” of Cornerstone products while working with Cornerstone’s popular data warehousing and reservation management platforms, iBank and iQCX. For instance a traveler can access a Travet that shows their travel history and future plans from their mobile phone. A corporate travel manager or a travel agent can keep their personal Travets on their desktop to track things such as traveler location and schedule changes.
Why Travets
“Our customers and the market told us that we needed to provide the ability for users to easily create their own set of applications so they can quickly access the information they need to better manage their unique business objectives”, said Aaron Hosey, Cornerstone’s Vice President for Product Strategy and Development. “We’ve always admired Google and SalesForce for how they let customers create personalized ways to access and use their own information and we thought we needed to bring that concept to the travel industry. Hence, Travets™ were born,” continued Hosey.
The Travet prototype was unveiled at this past summer’s NBTA in San Diego and received rave reviews. “Travets are the future of travel information management. This is amazing technology that is easy to understand and intuitive to use,” said Rhunette C. Mangan of San Antonio based Corporate Travel Planners. “Travets will help us better manage our relationship with our existing corporate customers and will definitely set us apart from the competition,” continued Mangan.
“Cornerstone’s Travets is the next generation of Travel Management Reporting. It's a leading edge data management solution that is exactly the type of innovation Casto's clients expect,” said John Kauffman, Vice President of Information Services for San Francisco based, Casto Travel.
New Travets will be continuously produced and become available to the market throughout 2010 via Cornerstone’s channel of more than 550 worldwide customers.
