Cornerstone’s Policy Compliance Manager Streamlines Pre-Trip Record Review
Fully Customizable Automated Authorization Now Available
Bloomington, IN - July 22, 2008: Corporate travel budgets are one of the top expense categories for businesses and with the cost of travel continuing to escalate, many corporations will need to rely more heavily on the their corporate policy to control costs. Cornerstone’s Policy Compliance Manager enables the traveler to make the best decision and allows the travel manager to step in to control travel spend prior to the money being spent. The product was originally created as a private label offering and has been in use at more than 100 corporations since it its initial limited release in 2007. This web-based tool is now available to TMCs and corporate travel departments.
“Policy Compliance Manager gives customers the ability to integrate and automate the approval process to save their clients’ time and money,” said Jami Waggoner, Cornerstone’s delivery and implementation director. “It provides the flexibility to define policy as detailed or as simple as the customer wants. Providing the appropriate level of detail supports sound business decision making while also streamlining the process.”
It has the ability to use text or email to alert travelers and travel authorizers when a trip is out of policy. For example, if a traveler makes a reservation and does not include a hotel, a message could be sent to the traveler saying "Make sure you book a hotel." It could also send a notification reminding travelers to use a preferred supplier or to book the the preferred rate. If a trip requires authorization for any designated reason, such as the airfare amount or class of service, a web link is sent to the designated authorizer to confirm or deny the approval.
The Policy Compliance Manager is able to track many elements and it provides comprehensive travel policy reporting. Some of its many policy checks include:
- Define out of policy parameters by account/cost center/division
- Set air fare thresholds over specified dollar amount or amount over lowest logical fare offered
- Set first class/business class parameters
- Identify in-policy car sizes
- Identify hotel per diems allowed
- Bypass authorization under exception conditions, such as VIP traveler, excluded departments or divisions, last minute travel, and weekend/holiday bookings
- Reason for travel
