Aaron Hosey, Vice President, Product Strategy and Development
Aaron Hosey knows that the biggest challenge and opportunity for a travel technology company like Cornerstone is in the area of managing risk. With the fast pace of change, rapidly multiplying information sources and increasingly precarious world, it is all the more important to ensure timely and accurate information when it comes to travel. As Cornerstone’s first network engineer, Aaron makes sure that all customers have the peace of mind that they need and up-front service that backs up the software.
Before joining Cornerstone in October 2000, Aaron worked for his father as a consultant of a marketing and management company, and then went on to head up an electronics engineering firm. While he saw the challenge in transitioning from being the boss to joining a team, Aaron was undeniably drawn to the travel industry and knew that his technical background would well used. His main responsibilities include the management and development of Cornerstone's technology portfolio.
As a child, Aaron always dreamed of becoming an architect, and he found that software engineering allowed him to design, build and see patterns in much the same way as an architect would. Between being raised in a military family and working with his father for so many years, Aaron gained an appreciation and aptitude for solving puzzles and dealing with complex situations.
A creator and explorer at heart, Aaron is inspired by historical figures such as the Arthur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington that saved England and Europe from the clutches of Napoleon. Aaron is also quite the sports enthusiast—football was always big in his family, and he even coached football. In addition, Vince Lombardi has always been an inspiration to Aaron because of his ability to motivate people merely through the spoken word.
When he isn’t wrapped up in technology and engineering, Aaron loves to spend time with his wife, Lisa, and their two children. Aaron and Lisa have two wire-haired fox terriers and they own and show an American Saddlebred horse nicknamed Princess.
